Dutch Bros Coffee is moving forward with plans for a 950-square-foot to-go shop in Saint Johns.

The 0.75-acre Dutch Bros will be in the Shops at Race Track Road at Race Track Road, St. Johns Parkway and Russell Bridge Drive, about a half-mile east from Lake City-based Ellianos Coffee.

The county received a completed land development permit application April 15 from Z Development Services LLC for the shop at 4560 Race Track Road.

The 950-square-foot Dutch Bros Coffee shop will be developed on 0.75 acre at the Shops at Race Track Road in St. Johns County.

Separate departmental approvals for the project are required from the Environmental Division Historic Preservation, Planning and Zoning and Technical/Transportation Development to ensure the project is a good fit for the area. A building permit will be required for construction.

Dutch Bros will have a double drive-thru and a walk-up service window, parking and a trash enclosure. There will be no indoor or outdoor seating.

Texas-based St. Johns at Racetrack LLC  is the land owner. Houston-based Castles Design Group is the architect.

The Racetrack Road location is one of six sites Dutch Bros Coffee has identified in Northeast Florida.

Dutch Bros carries coffee, drinks and a limited menu of pastries with no cooking on-site. It offers cold brew, chai, hot coffees, energy drinks, teas, lemonades, smoothies and its signature Dutch sodas.

The food menu includes granola bars and muffin tops.

The name is pronounced “Bros” and not as “brothers.”
