The 2014 Jacksonville Jazz Festival presented by AARP begins one week from today when acts will perform at 5 p.m. on three stages along East Bay Street.

Doc Handy will open the show on the Swingin’ Stage presented by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority. It will be set up at Marsh Street near the Maxwell House factory and the Pretrial Detention Facility.

Airmen of Note, the jazz ensemble of the U.S. Air Force band, will perform on the Groovin’ Stage near the State Attorney’s Office and the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, the festival host hotel.

At the Jacksonville Landing, Just Jazz Quartet from Vancouver, British Columbia, will open the festival on the Breezin’ Stage.

More than 20 artists along with food and beverage vendors will be set up along East Bay Street between the Swingin’ Stage and Market Street.

Late night jazz will be performed beginning at 10 p.m. Friday-Sunday at nightclubs near the festival site and at the Omni Hotel.
