Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. said Wednesday it will close the Jacksonville store at 10915 Baymeadows Road, near Florida 9A, as one of the 30 locations it will close by Sept. 22.
Jacksonville-based Winn-Dixie announced Tuesday it would close 30 underperforming stores among the five states in which it operates. The closings are part of a cost-cutting plan to save $12 million to $17 million a year.
The plan also calls for 120 job cuts.
The 30 stores represent 6 percent of the company’s 514 locations in five states. Winn-Dixie will close 24 stores in Florida, its home state.
The list of stores shows that Winn-Dixie will close two locations each in Georgia and in Mississippi and one each in Alabama and Louisiana.
In Florida, in addition to the Jacksonville store, Winn-Dixie will close four stores in Orlando, three in Lake Worth, two in Boynton Beach and one each in Boca Raton, Clermont, Deerfield Beach, Delray Beach, Deltona, Fort Lauderdale, Greenacres, Leesburg, Loxahatchee, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Poinciana, Sarasota and Titusville.
