When you have good news and not-so-good news to share, I’ve always heard it’s best to start with the good news.

So, let me begin with congratulations to our Membership Committee for the outstanding job and results of our annual membership drive campaign. Chris Dostie, Membership Committee chair, with the support and help of Hans Krieg, director of membership services, and the entire NEFBA staff, reports a total of 109 new members during the drive. We appreciate every member who was able to enroll a new member and help retain existing members.

Most of you know by now that our Executive Officer, Corey Deal, has made the difficult decision to share his considerable experience, education and talent with the Greater Atlanta HomeBuilders Association. Corey’s decision was influenced by his desire to accept the challenge to help the Atlanta association in its recovery efforts and his desire to return to his home state. Both Corey and Teahna have family in Georgia and understandably wish to be closer to them.

Corey’s leadership has put us on a strong footing, and I am confident we are well prepared to meet the challenges of the future. Our staff is terrific and does a fantastic job with advocacy programs, event planning, business, operations and marketing training for members, networking opportunities and service to members and the community.

We have begun our search for a new executive officer, and I believe we will find another great leader to fill this position in the tradition of our association of finding the best person for the job. We have a long legacy of exceptional leadership. That legacy will continue.

Join me in extending best wishes and much success to Corey, Teahna and Jackson in this new chapter in their lives. We welcome the opportunity to continue working with Corey on joint efforts nationally, and perhaps friendly competition for top honors at NAHB awards dinners.

Thank you, Corey, my friend. The very best to you and your family,

Lee Arsenault
