Part of the former Bethelite Conference Center is for sale or rent.

A sign at the property along the Arlington Expressway posts that 40,000 square feet, plus parking, is available. It is the former salon for the convention center.

The sign says “ballroom, night club & restaurant.”

New Miami International Realty is the contact, and Hector Schvartz-man is the Realtor to contact there.

He did not return several phone calls.

The former Bethelite Hotel & Conference Center was sold June 4 to Arlington Expressway Corporate Buildings LLC of North Miami Beach, whose mailing address is that of lawyer Valeria Schvartzman in North Miami Beach.

That company bought it from TIE 2009 Investments LLC of Miami. TIE 2009, whose manager is AR Real Estate Developments Inc., bought it May 9 from Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.

The property, at 5865 Arlington Expressway, is the former Thunderbird Dinner Theatre and Thunderbird Motor Hotel and later was the Ramada Inn Conference Center.

Bethelite Inc., formed by Bethel Baptist leaders in March 2003, bought the property in September 2003 from Jax Hotel Inc. of Dallas. The property had been sold several times before that.

Property records show the 18.8-acre site comprises 11 buildings and almost 300 hotel rooms. The hotel property is 50 years old.

The property is at northeast Arlington Expressway and University Boulevard North, next to the Town & Country Shopping Center.

The 40,000-square-foot structure for sale or rent appears to be the property’s ballroom area.

It had operated as the Ramada Inn Conference Center but was closed when it was sold to Bethelite.

The property’s 2014 assessed value is $1 million.
