The historic Bostwick Building will be put up for sale July 21.
A Circuit Court judge today ordered the property to be sold, according to the mayor's office. The judge also granted attorneys' fees and costs for the city totaling $78,774.
The owners of the building — members of the Bostwick family under the Guaranty Trust Investments Inc. title — had been accruing fines at a rate of $100 per day since 2012 because the structure failed to meet city code.
The city foreclosed on the lien it had against the building at 101 E. Bay St. on Nov. 27, one day after City Council designated it a historic landmark and denied the owners' request to tear down the structure.
