After a speaking appearance Tuesday at the Fernandina Beach Rotary Club, U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw (right) took the opportunity to use the St. Johns River Ferry during his ride home. He pledged to help find available federal funding to help with the ferry’s capital improvements and was surprised when he learned of the Florida Department of Transportation denying a request for financial assistance for the ferry. “It’s a state road and is a good use of state funding.
