A

Admiral’s Inlet. Near Doctor’s Lake, it has homes from the $190s.

Amelia Island Plantation. A large resort with homesites and condos. It includes the private Long Point development.

B

Baymeadows. One of the city’s first developments, it originally was a private, gated golf community that’s now a public golf course surrounded by apartments and condos. It’s at the intersection of Baymeadows Rd. and I-95.

Bent Creek. The housing development adjacent to the Golf Club of Jacksonville. It’s on 103rd St. within a few miles of the Cecil Commerce Center.

Brandon Chase. Large homesites on the west side of North Jacksonville, homes range from $140,000.

Brandywine. West of Jacksonville, it’s just off I-10 and has homes priced from the $100s.

Broadwater. It’s near the Intracoastal between Atlantic and Beach boulevards with homes from the $230s.

C

Captiva Bluff. On the northeast side of Jacksonville near the Dames Point Bridge, it has homes from $140,000.

Cedar North. A North Jacksonville development with homes from $100,000.

Cimarrone. The first gated golf community on SR 210.

D

Deercreek. A gated golf community across from the Avenues Mall. Homes and homesites.

Deerwood. The area’s first gated golf community, it was developed in the 1960s by the Skinner family.

E

Eagle Harbor. A family-oriented golf development south of Orange Park.

East Gate/Plantation Cove. A community in Julington Creek with homes from $300,000-500,000.

East Hampton. A big LandMar community off Baymeadows Rd. east of Southside Blvd.

F

Fleming Island. A massive Centex-anchored golf community south of Orange Park which eventually will have K-12 schools and a large retail area.

G

Gardens of Julington. A Julington Creek area with homes from the $140s.

Glen Kernan. A very upscale gated community adjacent to Butler Boulevard developed by George Hodges.

Grand Lakes. A Julington Creek area with homes from the low $150s.

H

Hammock Dunes. The private club in the middle of the Palm Coast development.

Hampton Glen. A golf-like community without a golf course, it has luxury homes near Deerwood.

Hampton Park. A LandMar development with homes by Arvida and ICI, it’s on Gate Parkway near Butler Blvd.

Harbor Island. Just south of Orange Park, it has homes from the $120s.

Hawkins Cove. One of the developments between Atlantic and Beach boulevards.

Hidden Hills. A gated golf community in Arlington. Originally built as a private men’s club with no homes, it’s now a large development.

J

Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. Originally an Arvida development, the residents now own the property. It’s a high-end gated community on Hodges Blvd. across from Windsor Parke.

James Island. An Arvida development off Gate Parkway, it offers a variety of homes.

K

King and Bear. A high-end development which is part of the World Golf Village. It’s located about three miles from the Village’s I-95 interchange. 940-5000.

L

Lakes of Westland. A development next to the Westland golf course with homes from the low $120s.

M

Magnolia Point. A gated golf community just north of Green Cove Springs. Homes and homesites available.

Margaret’s Walk. Homesites and homes on Fleming Island on east side of U.S. 17. Heavily wooded with some lots on St. Johns River.

Marsh Creek. A gated golf community on Anastasia Island just south of St. Augustine. Homes and homesites along Intracoastal.

Marsh Landing. A gated golf community in Ponte Vedra Beach with some homes and homesites along Intracoastal.

Meadows at World Golf Village. A development with homes from the $120s.

N

Nocatee. Still in the ground, it’s a massive development along the Intracoastal which will run virtually from Butler Blvd. to Palm Valley.

North Hampton. A big golf community on A1A in Nassau County that’s part of the LandMar family. The golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer.

O

Oak Bridge. It’s part of the TPC complex at Ponte Vedra Beach and offers golf course homes.

OakLeaf Plantation. Still in the planning stages, it will be a big community on the Duval-Clay line near the Cecil Field development area.

Ocean Grande at Serenata Beach. Luxury condos on A1A between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. There will be 198 units when it’s finished.

Ocean Villas at Serenata Beach. These are oceanfront condos from $800,000 in South Ponte Vedra Beach.

Old Mill Branch. Just off Gate Parkway north of Butler Blvd., it features homes from the $200s.

Orange Park Country Club. It’s just off Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park and abuts the Loch Rane development. It shares the Loch Rane gate and includes a golf course and amenities center.

P

Pablo Bay. A development near the Intracoastal in East Arlington with homes up to $500,000.

Pace Island. No golf, but everything else is at this community, which was the first big development on U.S. 17 just south of Orange Park.

Palencia. A national developer and local partners have what they feel is the next Marsh Landing. It’s on U.S. 1 just north of St. Augustine and will include homes and condos.

Palm Coast. A massive development, mostly in Flagler County, with seven golf courses. There are a wide ranges of housing choices including one private, gated golf community.

Pine Lake. A part of Eagle Harbor with homes from $140-180,000. The area includes smaller neighborhoods named Brookstone, Stoney Glen and Waters Edge.

Pine Lakes. A golf community on U.S. 1 on Jacksonville’s northside.

Plantation Estates West. It’s in Julington Creek and has homes up to $600,000.

Plantation at Ponte Vedra. A very private community on the southern end of Ponte Vedra Beach. Homes only.

Plantation Estates West. The newest D.R. Horton community, it’s part of Julington Creek and has homes ranging from $400,600,000.

Plantation Oaks. A Ponte Vedra Beach development with homes ranging to almost $1 million.

Q

Queen‘s Harbour. The Atlantic Blvd. entrance to this gated golf community leads to a deep piece of property that’s eventually bordered by both the Intracoastal and the St. Johns River. The development includes a large freshwater lake.

R

Ravines. Built around a spectacular golf course, this gated community has some of the area’s most spectacular homesites but still awaits growth reaching Middleburg.

Royal St. Augustine. Three builders combined with a developer for a golf community between the St. Augustine outlet malls and U.S. 1. Homes, condos and apartments line the fairways.

S

Sawgrass. The first gated golf community at the beach, it was built in the early 1970s, suffered when real estate fell, and surged in recent years with the coming of the PGA Tour and popularity if the beach. It’s now a private club.

Skylark Ridge. A Mandarin area developed by D.R. Horton with homes up to $400,000.

South Hampton. A LandMar golf community on SR 210 with numerous amenities.

Southern Grove. It’s off Beach Blvd. with homes from the low $100s.

St. Johns Golf and Country Club. A big Arvida golf community that you can see from I-95 just south of SR 210. The entrance is a few miles west of the interstate on 210.

Summer Beach. This is the residential development around the Ritz-Carlton and the Golf Club of Amelia on Amelia Island. Homesites, condos and zero lot line homes.

Sutton Lakes. One of several big areas between Atlantic and Beach boulevards.

T

The Shipyards. The much-trumpeted billion-dollar development on the site of the old shipyards in downtown Jacksonville. The first phase, a high-end condo project, should open late next year.

The Vinings. Homes from the $130s on SR 210.

Turtle Shores. Just north of Vilano Beach, it has homes from $200,000.

V

Villages of Tuscany. A St. Augustine development with a sister development in St. Augustine Shores. Homes range up with $230,000.

W

Westland Station. A development near The Course at Westland golf course, it offers homes from the $130s.

Whispering Pines. Homes from $190-260,000 in Julington Creek.

Windsor Chase. Between Atlantic and Beach boulevards about halfway from downtown Jacksonville to the beaches.

Wingfield Glen. Part of Julington Creen Plantation with homes from the $140s.

Woodlands. A community between Eagle Harbor and the Fleming Island developments, it has homes from the $130s.

World Golf Village. A huge development along I-95 which was started by the PGA Tour. It’s projected as a city of the future and includes homes, condos and a retirement center.
