• Jersey Mike’s Subs will be opening in the Tinseltown area at 9700 Deer Lake Court, No. 6. Blankenship Construction & Development LLC is the contractor for the $135,000 renovation.

• Renovations are pending for Five Guys Burgers and Fries at River City Marketplace. The cost to renovate the 2,258 square feet of space at 13249 City Square Drive, No. 101, is shown as $85,000.

• Build-out was approved for Dickey’s Barbecue Pit at 9825 San Jose Blvd. W.S. Builders LLC will renovate the space at a construction cost of $45,000. It is expected to open this month. Dallas-based Dickey’s Barbecue Pit said the Jacksonville location is owned by David and Bridgette Lowe, who originally intended to open in Orange Park, but instead will open in Mandarin.

• The Waffle House at 4271 Roosevelt Blvd. will be demolished and a new one built, according to a permit issued this week. Waffle House Inc. is the contractor for the new 1,635-square-foot building, which has a construction cost of $210,000.

• Plans were filed for a Wendy’s at 9055 New Kings Road. North Coast Construction Co. is listed as the contractor for the $544,034 project. It’s planned as a 3,049-square-foot restaurant on 1.02 acres.

• Construction was OK’d for Aardwolf Brewery & Taproom at 1461 Hendricks Ave. North Florida Construction Co. LLC will handle the $300,000 interior build-out. The location is a former marble and tile store. Plans show 3,000 square feet for the taproom and kitchen and 7,000 square feet for future brewery space.
