Gatlin Development Co. will build an almost 10,000-square-foot flex building at Collins Plaza at 7067 Collins Road in Southwest Jacksonville, completing the project.

J. Raymond Construction Corp. is the contractor for the 9,590-square-foot building at a construction cost of $1 million.

In November, Jacksonville-based Gatlin Development said it expected to complete Collins Plaza by adding almost 40,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space to the existing businesses.

Gatlin Development bought the nearly 44-acre Collins Plaza site at Collins Road and Interstate 295 in December 2014 and sold about 16 acres for development of a Wal-Mart Supercenter, which has opened.

Jacksonville-based Gate Petroleum Co. bought property for a Gate store that has opened and land next to it where it is building a Gate Express Carwash.

Jacksonville-based Gatlin Development completed two of those buildings, totaling 20,600 square feet, in the spring at 7083 and 7091 Collins Road. Tenants include China Kitchen, Coco’s Beauty Supply, Great Clips, Fancy Sushi, MetroPCS, Lee Nails & Spa, Jersey Mike’s, Salsa’s Mexican Restaurant and a barber shop.

Another multitenant 8,600-square-foot building, which will include an end unit drive-thru, should be completed this summer. AT&T is one tenant and Gatlin is in the final stage of a lease with a national coffee chain.

The newest building is for two tenants — a 3,500-square-foot Pet Angels Animal Hospital and a 6,500-square-foot Pet Supermarket. The building will open in the second quarter of 2018.

Plans show 16 offices, several conference rooms, open office space with about 30 seats, a breakroom and more functions.
