InComm, an Atlanta-based global commerce-technology company, appears to be opening a full-floor Jacksonville office in Freedom Commerce Centre.
The City is reviewing renovation plans for InComm on the second floor of the Nassau Building at 8935 Freedom Commerce Parkway, in the Baymeadows-Deerwood area of Jacksonville.
Center Brothers Inc. is shown as the contractor for the $450,000 project for interior demolition and build-out of 32,000 square feet.
InComm appears to be taking the second floor of the four-story building. The space can accommodate more than 300 employees based on City code.
A building-permit application shows offices and open office space, offices for two directors, training rooms, a break room and project space. The architect is ASD Architecture.
An InComm spokeswoman was gathering information Wednesday and did not respond further by Thursday morning.
Center Brothers did not return calls. ASD referred questions to the landlord, which did not return two phone calls.
Crocker Partners V Freedom LLC of Boca Raton owns the property. It bought the seven buildings in the Freedom Commerce Centre in late 2012 for $27.8 million from JPMCC 2005-CIBC13 Orlandville Offices LLC, in care of LNR Partners LLC of Miami Beach.
According to the incomm.com site, the company provides prepaid products, services and transaction technologies to retailers, brands and consumers. Its website opens with "Innovative Commerce."
InComm says it supports more than 400,000 points of distribution and helps retailers build prepaid card destinations, connects brands with new markets and "gives consumers a simple, secure shopping experience."
It says it is an industry leader in prepaid card and transaction technologies, products and services including gift, wireless, games, long distance, music and reloadable debit cards.
Along with Atlanta headquarters, InComm has offices in North and South America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Its online job listings include openings in Atlanta, Alpharetta and Norcross, Ga.; Miami; Portland, Ore.; Oakland, Calif.; North Carolina; and Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Jacksonville is not listed.
BB&T taking space at Summit at Southpoint
BB&T is making plans to renovate a floor of space at the Summit at Southpoint.
Plans under City review show BB&T intends to renovate and occupy the second floor in the three-story Summit Building 2 at 6420 Southpoint Parkway.
A BB&T Corp. spokesman at the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based banking company said he would respond with more information when available.
Plans show Adams Interior Contractors Inc. will renovate about 21,000 square feet of office space at a project cost of almost $493,000.
Place Plan LLC of Orange Park is the designer.
Plans show offices, open work space, conference rooms, a break room and other areas. Occupancy can reach 210 people, according to City code.
The Summit at Southpoint is a 23-acre lakeside campus of four three-story office buildings totaling about 260,000 square feet of leasable space. It faces Interstate 95 near Butler Boulevard.
The Summit is owned by Bluerock Real Estate, a national investment firm based in Manhattan. Its property management functions are based in Southfield, Mich.
A Bluerock representative referred questions to CNL Commercial Real Estate. A CNL representative was not available immediately.
Development note
• Homebuilder D.R Horton Inc. is seeking permits for a 35,000-square-foot office building in St. Johns County on 11 acres along Racetrack Road. A St. Johns River Water Management District review shows the building will be developed on five acres and the remaining six are forested wetlands. England, Thims & Miller Inc. is the engineer.
