As Jacksonville plays host to a national television audience for a Thursday night football, the city and the Jaguars have joined forces to plan a tailgate party to celebrate the city.

Kickoff for the Jaguars vs. Houston Texans game is 8:25 p.m.

“This is a big night for the Jaguars, but also for the city and everyone who lives here,” said Jaguars President Mark Lamping. “So we’ve planned a fun-packed evening to show the world that Jacksonville is a thriving, bold city and ready for a good time with friends and football.”

Mayor Alvin Brown said, “Night games are always exciting for Jacksonville. We are a football city that’s always ready for a big game.”

The activities will include a tailgate party hosted by the Jaguars from 5:30-8 p.m. in Lot TT at the south end of the stadium.  Anyone with a game ticket will have free access to the Bud Light Beer Garden, presented by PRI Productions.

The Beer Garden will offer free beer tastings accompanied by games such as cornhole and the Army/Navy Outdoor Shooting Gallery. More adventurous fans can ride a mechanical bull.

Families are encouraged to bring the kids to the interactive Kids Zone, which will be open for pre-game festivities.

It will be the first regular season night game for Coach Gus Bradley in Jacksonville.

“We can’t emphasize enough how important a packed stadium is to us. We have been very impressed with the support that the fans have showed us throughout the season,” said Bradley.

Any company, group or organization wishing to participate should contact the Jaguars group sales department to inquire about discounts for groups of 10 or more. The Jaguars can also coordinate pregame tailgate activities and VIP hospitality options for groups.

Individual game tickets may be purchased at jaguars.com.
