Law firms expanding offices in Downtown towers

Permits in review for Morgan & Morgan and Howard & Associates.

The Morgan & Morgan law firm wants to expand its operations in the SunTrust Tower Downtown at 76 N. Laura St.

The firm has offices on the 11th floor. The city is reviewing a permit application for Morgan & Morgan space on the 10th floor.

The project cost is listed at $641,000 for the 16,320-square-foot project to include alterations and repairs on the entire 10th floor including millwork, flooring, painting, plumbing, fire sprinklers, HVAC and electrical work

Plans submitted with the application include four corner offices for partners, 10 offices for case managers, 13 other offices, a break room and open space.

The architect is Kasper Architects & Associates. Dav-Lin Interior Contractors is listed as the contractor.

Morgan & Morgan has 40 offices in 11 states, including 23 offices in Florida.

Property owner Mainstreet Capital Partners also applied to upgrade the common areas on both floors.

The Fort Lauderdale-based real estate investment company bought the 23-story building in 2015 for $31.1 million.

Also, the Tallahassee-based Howard & Associates law firm wants to renovate space on the 21st floor at Riverplace Tower at 1301 Riverplace Blvd. on the Southbank Downtown.

Adams Interior Contractors is the contractor for the $320,000 build-out of 7,700 square feet. Hota Design Studio is the architect.

Howard & Associates also has offices in Fort Lauderdale and Boston.
