The feature exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, “Material Transformations,” has been widely publicized since Jan. 25 when it opened to the public.
Those who visit the exhibition also may view two other offerings, one that showcases an award-winning sculptor and art professor and another that exhibits the work of talented young local artists.
Bede Clarke, art professor at the University of Missouri, is showing his pottery and ceramic sculpture in the UNF Gallery.
Clarke is the artist for the fifth annual Barbara Ritzman Devereux Visiting Artist Workshop.
The program at University of North Florida is designed to supplement traditional applied art and academic instruction by providing students the opportunity to work with visiting artists in a broad range of visual media.
Clarke’s work may be viewed through March 9.
Visual art by local Gold Key Portfolio Winners who competed in the 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is on display in the fifth-floor gallery at MOCA.
The collection is some of the newest contemporary art in the building. The annual competition is open to artists and writers in grades 7-12 in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties.
The local winners will continue to national adjudication and have the chance to earn scholarships and have their work published.
