Our members wanted a powerful, reliable and engaging website, and we are preparing to deliver it.

The new site provides members with unique ways to build their professional network and profile, connect with other members and find information easily.

Below are some of the highlights of our new website and how you can benefit.

New look and improved functionalities

The new site welcomes you with fresh and engaging images. It offers simpler navigation, better search capabilities and interactive features. For example, a pre-populated registration form will make it convenient for you to complete your registration for an event. You will only have to enter personal data once and this data should appear automatically the next time you register for an event.

Committees and sections

A new communication platform will further the goals and projects of sections and committees, facilitate interaction among members and serve as a repository of materials. This new forum will expand the information available to members and enhance members' visibility. For example, Committee Chairs will be able to post meetings and promote events from the Committee's page. Members will be able to view a list of other members of the committee and interact with each other.

Although face-to-face networking is extremely valuable, it is not enough to occasionally meet colleagues at mixers to gain their respect and confidence. Members need to get to know you and remember you before they will feel comfortable reaching out with a question or a referral. Being active, and even better, being a leader of one of our committee or sections, can provide you with an invaluable opportunity to increase your visibility and credibility. There are some current openings to lead and we hope you take advantage of them.

Member directory feature

A new member directory will allow members to create and update their profiles. The site allows for auto-population of certain fields like firm name and address. Members can search for other members by the name of the attorney, area of practice or by membership in a committee. Members can also upload their picture.

Lawyer Referral Service (LRS)

If you are looking for a way to build or expand your client base, our supercharged LRS program can help. Since July 2002, the JBA LRS has referred over 13,000 potential clients to participating attorney LRS panel members. Panel members have collected over $4,000,000 in attorney fees resulting from these referrals; provided rewarding preventative legal solutions to clients; and benefited from increased exposure to potential clients without paid advertising. Our new site makes enrolling and participating in the program much easier. We look forward to your participation.

Thank you to a dedicated website committee and contributors.

I am fortunate to be supported in this project with a remarkable team and I am very grateful and say "thank you" to them.

This redesign could not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of the website committee members: Jeff McFarland (website connoisseur and photographer extraordinaire), Michael Bateh, Shotsie Main, Anthony Adams and Susan Sowards, and the contributions and support of Ray Driver, Blane McCarthy, Katie Dearing, Beau Baker, Michelle Barnett, Penny Schmidt and Charlie Jimerson.

And kudos to our website design team led by Joe Lemire from Elyk Innovation.

We expect to launch the site in a few weeks. Over the next few months, we will continue to improve it and work out some bugs, but we are confident that with your active participation this site will increase the value of your membership and involvement.

Please help us continue to improve our association with your participation.
