Executive Director
Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Jacksonville

Mission
LISC Jacksonville helps transform distressed communities into healthy ones — good places to live, do business, work and raise families. We help neighbors build communities.

Serving Jacksonville
Since 1999. Based in New York; with 31 local offices as well as four affinity programs. Founded by the Ford Foundation 30 years ago.

Those served
Jacksonville’s older, urban neighborhoods of North Jacksonville, Springfield and Eastside.

Biggest challenge
Balancing the real estate and housing development focus of our work with the launch of our new EPIC Communities initiative. This new direction offers opportunities to partner to address the other aspects that enhance the quality of life for families in addition to housing — income, jobs, education, health.

Biggest satisfaction
Knowing the impact that our efforts are having in stabilizing vital urban neighborhoods with high-quality affordable homes and commercial development.

Hometown
Greenville, S.C.

First experience with community service
I passed out fliers door-to-door for a voter registration drive.

Your job before LISC
Vice president of marketing and communications, United Way of Northeast Florida

Upcoming events
Sept. 27: DASH Awards Dinner, to recognize unsung heroes in neighborhood and community development work. Special guest: LISC National President Michael Rubinger. 7 p.m., Hyatt Downtown.
