The folks from the Trust for Public Land took part in a nationwide initiative Friday to turn small urban areas — preferably individual parking spaces or parking lots — into parks for a day and they chose the Bailey Publishing lot at the corner of Bay Street and Newnan Street. Susan Grandin, TPL director, plays a form of tennis with TPL volunteer Pat McCullough while TPL volunteer and “park” designer Steven Davis relaxed on the wooden swing. Davis said it took about two hours to set up the Caribbean-themed park.
