• The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced 10 local finalists for the NFL Community Quarterback Award, a volunteer recognition program that will donate nearly $1 million league wide to community organizations served by the volunteers. Local finalists are Leslie Allen, Duval County 4-H Program; Elizabeth Bay, Community Connections; Mary Burt, Bridge of Northeast Florida, Inc.; Patricia Cooper, North Jacksonville Youth Development Center; Victoria Drake, Duval County Public Schools; Sam Eisenberg, Jacksonville Housing Partnership, Inc.’ Lillian Jordan, Volunteer Jacksonville, Inc.; Henri Landwirth, I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless; Vena Patton, Hubbard House, and Michael Stephens, National Conference for Community and Justice. Jaguars owners Delores and Wayne Weaver will announce the team winner and two runner-ups Wednesday during a luncheon at The River Club.

• The Jacksonville Airport Authority will hold its awards committee meeting today at 9 a.m. at the JAA administration offices. For information, call 741-2712.

• Mayor John Delaney will host an “Olde Fashioned Holiday Open House” Thursday from 4-7:30 p.m. at City Hall, Hemming Plaza and Historic Snyder Memorial. The party features free carriage and sleigh rides, holiday entertainment, a living window, holiday crafts, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus and an Olde Fashioned Carole Sing. • The Rotary Club of Jacksonville hosts its Christmas Family Luncheon Monday at noon at the Omni. The Don Thompson Chorale is scheduled to perform and there will be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. RSVP for guests to 353-6789.
