Clay nearly doubled the number of permits issued in May as issued in April. Duval also showed an increase, while Nassau and St. Johns counties showed slight decreases. Compared to last year, permit numbers for all counties are up from 3,513 for the same time period, January through May in 2016, to 3,716 this year.
