As of the end of June 2017, permit data indicates the four-county area of Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties is ahead of this same time period last year. The end of the second quarter 2016 reported 2,282 permits issued, and the second quarter 2017 is reporting 2,319. The month of June 2017 total of 833 for all four counties was up by 96, compared to June 2016 with 737. St. Johns County was stable with a slight loss of six permits between May and June, and the other three counties were up. Clay had 33 more in June than in May, Duval was up 35  and Nassau had 42 more. Growth in the second quarter appears to be steady, evenly distributed and in an upward direction.
