Duval County Judge Eric Roberson was appointed Monday by Gov. Rick Scott to fill the vacancy on the 4th Judicial Circuit bench created in January when former Judge Mark Hulsey resigned, according to 4th Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Mark Mahon.

Roberson, 37, is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2005.

An assistant state attorney from 2005-07, Roberson then went into private practice before joining the county bench in May 2015, also an appointment by Scott.

Roberson’s appointment to the circuit court creates a vacancy on the county court, which will be addressed by the Judicial Nominating Commission.
