Sports & Entertainment Committee Presents Seminar on November 21. If you think that being a sports & entertainment lawyer is all about free tickets to concerts and bowl games, think again. Better yet, attend the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Sports & Entertainment Law Committee seminar on Thursday, Nov. 2, between 8:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. at the Omni Hotel. (The Bar’s monthly luncheon will follow.) Seminar topics include a review of the relevant state and federal statutes, typical entertainment and sports contracts, how to start a practice and the specific ethical issues faced by sports and entertainment lawyers. Michael Kelly, President and COO of the 2005 Super Bowl Committee also will be on hand to bring participants up to date on the big event. CLE is pending (4 credits, including 1 ethics). For more information, contact Carolyn Herman, Esq., Chair or the Jax Bar Office.
