State college offering Saturday workshops

Florida State College at Jacksonville is holding its “Bridge to Baccalaureate” event Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the College’s Deerwood Center.

The four-hour session is designed to provide information on the school’s seven bachelor degrees and encourage those either looking to return to school or thinking of making a career change to enroll on one of the programs.

Workshops are scheduled at the following times: Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications (workshops at 11:15 and 12:30); Fire Science Management (10:30 and 12:30); Information Technology Management (10:30 and 1:15); Public Safety Management (11:15 and 1:15); Supervision and Management (11:15); Early Childhood Education (11:15 and 12:30); and Nursing (10:30 and 12:30). Information on programs, financial aid and admissions will be available for the duration of the event.

“Bridge to Baccalaureate” is free and open to the public. The event is not only for current students, but for anyone who wants to complete a bachelor’s degree.

In addition, representatives from Edward Waters College, Jacksonville University, Life University (Marietta, Ga.), Nova Southeastern University and the University of North Florida will attend to present information on their available programs.
