By now you probably have heard some buzz regarding big changes coming to the Bar Bulletin. Well — ta-da — they’re here!

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of The Jacksonville Bar Association Board of Governors, Bar Bulletin Committee and the Daily Record team, we are proud to debut the monthly edition of the Bar Bulletin.

Wait — monthly?

That’s right, we have switched from the weekly edition to a monthly publication that will be published the first Monday of each month.

This new format allows us to deliver a variety of content with broader, thoughtful coverage of the community and more opportunities for member participation. In short, the new Bar Bulletin is about revitalizing engagement, and we need your help.

Take a stab at a feature article or editorial. Publication opportunities are open to any JBA member so don’t be shy.

Submissions regarding substantive law, issues of practical concern to lawyers and relevant community matters are welcome. Pick a topic and run with it.

Or, join the debate in our Point/Counterpoint feature. Each month, two members face off to educate us regarding issues facing the community. This is an opportunity to take your advocacy beyond the boardroom or courtroom. Step up and be heard.

Of course, we still want to hear about your section and committee efforts, so remember to send details about upcoming events to [email protected].

But don’t stop there. The Legal Scene provides a forum to reap the rewards of a job well done with post-event coverage. “A picture is worth a thousand words” may sound trite, but celebrating our accomplishments is an important part of The JBA’s legacy.

Do your part to memorialize The JBA’s amazing work, so snap a few photos at your next event.

Is a behind-the-scenes contribution more your speed? Just have an idea for a great topic or thoughts on how we can improve the publication? We want to hear from you, too.

The Bar Bulletin Committee is always looking for new suggestions and members to contribute copy and coordinate submissions.

We challenge each of you to rise to the challenge and help us provide fresh, varied content our members will look forward to reading every month.
