• Morris Publishing Group LLC reported a first-quarter net loss of $1.9 million, compared with a loss of $1.2 million in the first quarter of 2011. Total revenue fell 5.6 percent to $51.9 million, according to its quarterly report filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Augusta, Ga.-based Morris is the publisher of The Florida Times-Union and 11 other daily newspapers. Morris said revenue from Jacksonville, its largest market, fell 11.3 percent in the first quarter.

• Meanwhile, T. Preston Herold, former vice president of Hillwood Investment Properties and developer of AllianceFlorida at Cecil Commerce Center, has left the company for personal reasons, said James Fuller, spokesman for Hillwood. The company was named master developer of the Cecil Commerce Center property by the City in 2010 and the company agreed to develop the property over 25 years. Herold has been temporarily replaced by Dan Patsch and Kerry Roetzel, who are working out of the company’s Dallas office. “We are absolutely committed to this project,” said Fuller. The mayor’s office was notified of the change last week. “This does not affect our agreements or obligations at Cecil Commerce Center. We are still actively marketing the property throughout the country,” said David DeCamp, communications director for Mayor Alvin Brown.

Solantic was founded in Jacksonville in 2001 and entered into a joint venture with Baptist Health in 2010 for the 12 centers in the greater Jacksonville area.
