Attorney Mary Claire Miller has joined the Driver McAfee Peek & Hawthorne firm, where she focuses on real estate law and representing buyers and sellers in commercial and residential real estate transactions. Her primary focus is managing the operations at HomeGuard Title & Trust LLC. She previously worked with Milam Howard Nicandri Dees & Gillam.

• For the 10th consecutive year, the Bedell Firm reports it is ranked among the top litigation firms in the country, among the top 15 firms in Florida, and the only listed litigation firm based in Jacksonville in the London-based Chambers and Partners’ 2012 Chamber USA Guide “America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.”

• Attorney Theresa Marie Kenney of Duss, Kenney, Safer, Hampton & Joos has received board certification from The Florida Bar in real estate law. Her practice focuses on complex commercial transactions concerning the development, ownership, operation and leasing of retail, senior housing and industrial properties throughout the state.

• In apartment news, the City approved permits for construction of the 360-unit Seagrass Apartments at 1701 San Pablo Road S. The 15 apartment buildings, 13 garages and amenities total a construction cost of almost $12 million. The contractor is TriBridge Residential Construction LLC.

• JEA seeks proposals for public education services. The utility issued a request for proposal to secure one or more marketing, communications, advertising and/or media buying company or companies to plan, coordinate, create, produce and implement a multichannel campaign to increase the public’s knowledge of how to more efficiently manage electric, water and sewer utility services.
