Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews is preparing civil engineering plans for its first Jacksonville restaurant.
Red Robin intends to build at the new Town Center Promenade along Town Center Parkway, across from St. Johns Town Center.
The restaurant would be at Town Center Parkway and Tropea Way South.
The Greenwood Village, Colo.-based chain, through civil engineer Prosser Inc., submitted site layout, grading and drainage and other plans Friday with the St. Johns River Water Management District.
In an email filed with the documents, Red Robin Property Development Manager Brad Smith authorizes Prosser Inc. to submit plan review and permit applications to the district.
Prosser said the proposed project consists of constructing the restaurant and associated infrastructure.
The size of the Red Robin is not yet detailed.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. was founded in Seattle in 1969. Its large menu includes more than two dozen burgers and its signature Bottomless Steak Fries.
More than 540 Red Robin restaurants operate across the U.S. and Canada. Among the 23 in Florida is one in Gainesville, the nearest to Jacksonville.
In February, The Shopping Center Group LLC announced Red Robin was one of several new restaurants that would open in spring 2017 in the new Town Center Promenade.
The Promenade is under development by Core Property Capital of Atlanta, which bought 62.85 acres along Town Center Parkway in January. About 30 acres can be developed.
The property is designed for retail, hotel and multifamily projects.
The Shopping Center Group also said Texas de Brazil Churrascaria Brazilian Steakhouse and Piada Italian Street Food would open their first Jacksonville restaurants at the Promenade.
In addition, an Aldi grocery store, Aspen Dental, Mattress Firm, Starbucks and Newk’s Eatery signed to join the Promenade, the group said.
Core Property Capital intends to develop a multifamily project there.
