Gov. Rick Scott said Tuesday that “Project Grace” is Mercedes-Benz USA, which will relocate an engineering services division from New Jersey to Jacksonville and add 50 jobs.

The positions will be a mix of relocated and newly hired employees. A division of Daimler AG, the company is adding the engineering services division to its Quality Evaluation Center at its North Jacksonville center.

It employs more than 100 people there. City Council approved incentives in June.

The city and state would provide almost $450,000 for a deal to add 54 jobs over two years at an average wage of $66,000.

The taxpayer incentives involved a city and state tax refund and state training grant.

The company will invest $2.1 million in IT, equipment and other improvements.
