After filling 500 new positions in Jacksonville last year, Citigroup Inc. said Wednesday it plans to hire 800 people for its credit card operations center in the Flagler Center on the Southside.
The New York-based global banking company already employs about 4,000 people at the site, but spokeswoman Elizabeth Fogarty said by email the company is expanding the operation to support business growth.
The new jobs include management positions as well as customer service, fraud and collections representatives, she said.
Citigroup has operated a major credit card operations center in Jacksonville since 1997, when it bought AT&T's Universal Card business.
In 2005, Citi Cards moved its operation from Deerwood Center to a new campus in Flagler Center.
