NEFBA’s annual Beast Feast has become one of the most-anticipated political events in Northeast Florida.

It would take more than Hurricane Matthew to stop it, although the storm did necessitate a slight delay.

Originally scheduled for Oct. 6, the popular cookout took place Oct. 13 with hundreds of NEFBA members, elected officials, city employees and other friends enjoying an evening of one-on-one contacts, good music, great food and beautiful weather.

Immediate past NEFBA President Rick Morales hosted the event. GrillBilly’s Catering served up its mouth-watering barbecued pork and delicious sides. Todd Knowles (Quick Tie Products) expanded the menu with sausage and ribs.

Title sponsor Nimnicht Chevrolet displayed a new Chevy work truck and P3 Rentals supplied the light tower to keep the party going after dark.

Guests included Florida legislators, more than half of the Jacksonville City Council, county staff, and state and local candidates, including John Rutherford, a candidate for Congress.
