Food distribution company Reinhart Foodservice said Monday it is closing its Jacksonville facility, which will put 66 people out of work.
The company last week filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice last week saying it would cut 66 jobs by March 31 at its facility at 7735 Westside Industrial Dr.
Reinhart issued a statement Monday saying its “business in Jacksonville will be transitioning to other distributors over the next four months. After we work through this business transition, we will be closing the Jacksonville facility.”
Reinhart was founded in Wisconsin in 1972. The company now headquartered near Chicago operates 29 distribution centers across the country. The closest to Jacksonville is in Valdosta, Ga.
The company says it is the fourth-largest foodservice distributor in the U.S., serving a range of customers including restaurants, sports venues, schools, hospitals and the military.
