The multimillion-dollar renovation at Sawgrass Country Club’s Beach Club gave members the chance to enjoy a summer of enhanced dining, entertainment and pool amenities.

A team from ELM | Ervin Lovett Miller led the project, which included redesigning and replacing the family pool, renovating interior dining, living and bar areas, expanding the SandBar Bistro and upgrading outdoor decks and pedestrian beach access.

The project received the Excellence in Construction Eagle Award from the Associated Builders & Contractors First Coast Chapter. It also was one of three considered for project of the year.

“The changes are significant and dramatic,” said Steve Lovett, ELM’s partner in charge of the project.

Nancy Short, principal with Ansana Interior Design, said the design team was inspired by the club’s setting.

“We simply looked out the windows for inspiration, finding tremendous beauty in the natural elements that surround the club,” she said.

The work, which began last fall, is the second phase in the country club’s master plan. The first was a new fitness center in 2013.
