There are many ways to provide pro bono legal assistance.

Attorneys present topics at information clinics at a legal service’s organization or a public library. They provide brief counsel and advice at an Ask-A-Lawyer event at a community center or a veterans’ clinic.

Lawyers also participate in Citizenship Day, the Name Change Project or at an Advance Directives for Seniors event.

Volunteers may choose to assist a client by working with Guardian ad Litem, the Office of Public Defender or Three Rivers Legal Services.

Many attorneys select their cases by visiting the case review resource at jaxlegalaid.org, Pro Bono Involvement, Cases Awaiting Placement.

Clients are identified by Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, the Northeast Florida Medical Legal Partnership and Three Rivers.

More people have access to the courts and legal assistance, thanks to the attorneys listed and to so many more. The need for pro bono legal service is immense and every contribution matters.
