Crane Island selects three builders for new community
Three builders were selected for Crane Island, a master-planned community in Amelia Island.
Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Pineapple Corp. and Lendry Homes will provide construction and design services for residents.
“The builders we selected are all well-versed in the architectural guidelines of Crane Island and each brings a unique touch to the island,” Vann Simmons, director of sales for the development, said in a news release.
The release said Pineapple Corp. will include features such as outdoor living spaces that provide maximum use of natural light and vaulted or raised ceilings.
Lendry Homes will offer amenities, including infinity-edged pools and spas, courtyards with travertine fire pits and tucked-away bunk guest quarters.
Arthur Rutenberg will provide in-house architectural design and the use of furnished model homes to demonstrate the livability of its plans and showcase its latest designs.

KB Home helps Ronald McDonald House
Young residents at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville will receive special surprises from KB Home employees, who created stuffed animals for them. Each KB Home employee selected a stuffed animal, chose a heart and sealed it inside after whispering a wish for health and happiness, according to a news release. The bears, puppies, bunnies, monkeys and other animals will be left on the beds at Ronald McDonald House, which has served more than 33,000 families since 1988.
Watson Realty earns fifth Diamond Award
Watson Realty Corp. received its fifth Diamond Award in 15 years from Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.
The award, given each year to one member company, was presented to Watson last month during a gala in Miami Beach.
“This year, Watson Realty Corp. rose to the top once again, distinguishing itself by achieving the highest levels of success and engaging in so many of our diverse offerings as a way to enhance the services it offers to home buyers and sellers and support its outstanding sales associates,” said Pam O’Connor, president and CEO of the group.
Watson received several other awards, including Executive Vice President Carlotta Landschoot receiving the Chairman’s Award for dedicated service.
Markland hosts second Firepit Friday
More than 40 people gathered around the lake behind the Manor House in Markland for the community’s second Firepit Friday.
A dozen families have moved into the Hines development on International Golf Parkway, just east of Interstate 95. When completed, the community will have 345 homes.
Residents and their guests enjoyed a night of sharing stories and music by Ace Winn.
Also on hand were members of the Markland team including Todd Myhill, amenity manager; Walter O’Shea, managing director; and Carla Luigs, all of Hines.
Homes in the neighborhood range from $280,000 to more than $700,000. The community is in thousands of acres of protected preservation forest and includes two 15-acre recreational lakes.
The community is hosting a luau April 27, featuring a pig roast. Model home tours are 5:30-8:30 p.m. and entertainment is 7-8:30 p.m.
Barzaga’s 1920s party draws about 100
Davidson Realty’s Mirtha Barzaga’s fifth annual customer appreciation party drew nearly 100 people to the Legends Grille in World Golf Village.
The theme of the party was the 1920s.
Barzaga is a top producer with Davidson, having received its triple crown of awards for 2016: top seller, top listing agent and top producer. She finished the year with more than $10 million in production.
David Weekley and Providence Homes join TrailMark builders
TrailMark is adding David Weekley Home and Providence homes to its list of homebuilders.
Both will soon break ground on model homes, which are planned to open this summer.
Other builders in the community include D.R. Horton and Landon Homes.
“As our community continues to grow, our home offerings do too,” said GreenPointe Communities North Florida Division Manager Mike Taylor.
David Weekley Homes and Providence Homes are offering floor plans ranging from 1,500 square feet to more than 2,400 square feet with prices starting in the $200,000s.
Toll Brothers adds new model
Toll Brothers is offering the new Anna Maria Home design at Coastal Oaks at Nocatee, Toll Brothers at Atlantic Beach Country Club and Julington Lakes.
The 3-700-square-foot open plan includes a two-story foyer that leads to a great room, gourmet kitchen and adjacent dining room and a covered lunai, according to a news release.
The model can include four to six bedrooms, three-and-a-half to four-and-a-half bathrooms and a garage that include up to three cars.

Cromer, Overstreet win LandSouth awards
Jason Cromer and Duke Overstreet received LandSouth Construction’s 2016 Diamond Award. The honor is voted on by employees based on which colleagues best represent the company’s core values and mission, according to a news release.
Cromer has been with LandSouth for 12 years and recently was promoted to senior project manager. His responsibilities include field management operations and managing subcontractors.
Overstreet is an assistant superintendent for LandSouth projects in Orlando and has been with the company for nine years. He has more than two decades of experience in multifamily construction.
