Winn-Dixie Wish Squad landscapes on Earth Day
The Winn-Dixie at Point Meadows Wish Squad granted its first wish to Twin Lakes Academy Elementary School during its “Green Apple Day of Service” on Earth Day.
Associates from Winn-Dixie at Point Meadows and the corporate support center joined school volunteers Saturday to help with landscaping to renew and beautify the campus.
Launched as a gift to the community in February, the Winn-Dixie at Point Meadows Wish Squad is a community action program dedicated to performing projects in the communities the store serves.
The wish was granted based on nominations by Winn-Dixie at Point Meadows customers. In March, they received Wish Tokens for every $30 spent at checkout to vote for the community project of their choice.
This month’s Winn-Dixie at Point Meadows community partners are the Jacksonville School for Autism and The Church of Eleven22.
The next nominated project will be announced at the end of April, with the Wish Squad completing its second wish in May.
