Amazon.com submitted plans for a $1.3 million conveyor system at its West Jacksonville fulfillment center under construction at AllianceFlorida at Cecil Commerce Center.
The conveyor system is shown as a 100,000-square-foot project within the 1 million-square-foot center at 13333 103rd St.
Seattle-based internet retailer Amazon expects to open the center in early 2018 to handle large consumer goods.
Hiring for the 1,000 full-time jobs has not been announced but should start a few months before opening.
The city also is reviewing a permit application for Amazon to install a storage rack system at the center at a construction cost of almost $2.5 million.
Amazon’s $115 million Cecil Commerce Center project is under construction by The Conlan Co. City and state incentives total $8.3 million.
The 1,500-job Northwest Jacksonville fulfillment center is expected to open about September at 12900 Pecan Park Road to handle small consumer goods.
