Aldi announced Tuesday it will open its Town Center Promenade grocery store Aug. 31 at 4444 Town Center Parkway.
It will host a ribbon-cutting at 8:25 a.m., after which customers can tour the store, sample Aldi-branded products and enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of Aldi produce.
The store was designed with the chain’s new look, including a focus on the produce, dairy and bakery sections along with a modern design, natural lighting and environmentally friendly building materials.
It will be the third Jacksonville Aldi store, after the first in Southside Square at 9041 Southside Blvd. and a second in West Jacksonville along Normandy Boulevard near Interstate 95.
A fourth is planned at CB Square along Atlantic Boulevard in the Regency area.
The Germany-based discount food chain also has stores in St. Augustine and Middleburg.
Aldi has introduced new product lines, including an organic selection, meats, gluten-free liveGfree foods, SimplyNature goods free of more than 125 artificial ingredients and preservatives, and the Never Any line of meats free of antibiotics and added hormones.
Aldi also carries a line of baby products.
The store will open at 9 a.m. daily and close at 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Aldi operates more than 1,600 stores in 35 states. By the end of 2018, it intends to expand to almost 2,000 stores coast to coast.
Aldi says it can save customers up to 50 percent on their grocery bills. It sells the most frequently purchased grocery and household items primarily under its exclusive brands.
