Developer Cantrell & Morgan Inc. said Thursday it completed the land acquisition for the 18-acre Gateway Village at Town Center at Gate Parkway and Deerwood Park Boulevard.

It said it would break ground soon.

The sale price was not disclosed and was not recorded by Thursday afternoon with the Duval County Clerk of Courts.

Jacksonville-based Cantrell & Morgan said the $75 million project includes 289 high-end, luxury apartments developed by Atlanta-based Davis Development.

The initial phase of retail will include several multi-tenant buildings, highlighted by a specialty restaurant with Chef Matthew Medure, Burrito Gallery, Sushi House and a salon.

Cantrell & Morgan President Jim Loftin said the project “will complement a dynamic and strategic Town Center trade area.”

The land was bought from the Skinner family.
