On Jan. 27, 208 shooters gathered at Bradford Sportsman’s Farm for the fifth annual NEFBA Apprenticeship Clay Shoot.

Each year, supporters of the program gather together for a day of collegial competition to support the NEFBA Apprenticeship Program.

This year’s event had more than 55 foursomes compete in the shoot for the honors of top male shooter, top female shooter and top team.

On the other end of the spectrum, the lowest-scoring individuals also receive an honorary trophy — a customized toilet seat.

The winners were:

• Highest scoring team: Brantley & Associates consisting of Lance Day, Greg Brantley, Victor Jubran and Daniel Teague.

• Top male shooter (three-way tie): Victor Jubran, Daniel Teague and Lance Day

• Top female hooter: Chandra Capobianco

Participants also could purchase raffle tickets for door prizes and the grand prize, a Weatherby Athena 12-gauge over-and-under 28-inch shotgun.

The top prize was donated by Keith Ward of Thomas May Construction and Magnum Painting Services.

Additional door prizes included cedar adirondack chairs crafted by Orange Park High School’s carpentry program, corn hole games made by NEFBA carpentry apprentices, Yeti products and other items.

Mike Moore was the winner of the shotgun.

This year’s 12 Gauge Sponsors included Thomas May Construction, Haskell Corporation, Auld & White Constructors, Florida Comfort, True Blue People Ready, Bender & Modlin Fire Sprinkler, Magnum Painting Services, Coastal Electric Company of Florida, Air Solutions Heating & Cooling, Adkins Electric Company, LP Building Products, All Quality Painting, Sherwin-Williams, Campbell Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Southeast and FCC Cabinets.

A special thank you from the NEFBA apprenticeship office is extended to Billy Smart of GrillBilly’s Catering for the barbecue chicken and ribs lunch and to Ann Hicks of Stephens Advertising for designing promotional signage for the event.
