How exciting it is to share with you a glimpse into the inner workings of our association, along with an example of the fun times we have together and a cause to celebrate!

Our visit to Tallahassee for the FHBA Spring Legislative Conference late in March was fast-paced and productive. Sixteen of our members visited 10 of our senators and representatives to discuss issues vital to the growth and strength of our industry. My personal thanks to all who joined us and gave us a unified and strong presence in Tallahassee. That story begins on Page 1.

You can also enjoy (vicariously after-the-fact) the fun and excitement of the Clay Builders Council Thirsty Thursday Night at the Jumbo Shrimp April 13. Some 250 NEFBA members, family and friends enjoyed the great game, which the Shrimp won, perfect weather, ballpark food and refreshments and socializing. You won’t want to miss the pictures in this issue.

Please join me in congratulating our apprentice, Rondell Joiner, who was selected as one of the “50 Faces of Apprenticeship” campaign through the U.S. Department of Labor. We also congratulate our Apprentice Program staff who work diligently to grow and promote our program.

Every month my appreciation for our association, the individual members, the leadership and staff grows. I would encourage you to take advantage of all the benefits of your membership. Some are obvious—government advocacy, enjoying activities together and being part of the state’s largest local homebuilders associations. I can assure you that you will reap even greater benefits proportional to your level of participation. Check out the association calendar, give us a call and jump into the winning spirit of NEFBA.

Sincerely,

Lee Arsenault
