JLL, a professional services firm as well as a real estate company, scheduled a two-day hiring fair this week for Amazon.com “fulfillment center opportunities.”
The fair is scheduled 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday at the Doubletree by Hilton at 2101 Dixie Clipper Drive near Jacksonville International Airport.
JLL said in a Sunday newspaper ad that it will hire more than 65 industrial automation technicians from intermediate to senior and lead levels.
The company posted the jobs on its jll.com/careers website.
Jobs include material handling equipment and Amazon robotics, all levels, and control systems technicians and leads.
Seattle-based Internet retailer Amazon will open two fulfillment centers, totaling 2,700 jobs, in Northwest Jacksonville near Jacksonville International Airport and at Cecil Commerce Center in West Jacksonville.
A 200-job sortation center also is under development in Westside Industrial Park.
Those are expected to open this fall in time for the holiday season.
Amazon also has posted jobs at Amazon.com/careers.
Those include area manager; operations manager; injury prevention specialist; learning coordinator; part-time shift assistant; field quality assurance specialist, on road; senior staffing coordinator; staffing specialist — high volume hiring; workforce staffing manager — high volume; part-time shift assistant, logistics — military veterans; IT support technician; human resources business partner; and senior HR business partner.
The company is expected to first hire for its 825 management and operations jobs, which pay an average of $50,000 and more.
The bulk of the warehouse hiring is expected later and could pay $12-$15 an hour. Job fairs for those are expected in July.
