The fall season of the JBA YLS Basketball League came to an exciting conclusion this month as a new champion was crowned.

Teams from Dawson Orr, the Public Defender’s Office, Fidelity and Heekin Litigation Group fought hard in the league’s most competitive season in recent memory.

The Defenders, having dominated the league since its rebirth in 2015 with two full undefeated seasons, suffered two losses by only two points each. The second loss came in the most important game of the season, as Heekin Litigation Group pulled off the upset on a buzzer-beater to clinch a 53-51 victory in the championship battle.

This is Heekin Litigation Group’s first basketball championship of the new era of the JBA Sports League.

The league will begin its winter season in January. Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun. Form a team or sign up as a free agent and be placed on a team.
