National homebuilder D.R. Horton Homes has purchased 136 lots in The Villages of Westport in North Jacksonville. ICI Homes is the project developer.

Already building its Express Homes product in The Villages of Westport, Horton paid $5.5 million for the new homesites.

Chuck Diebel of Colliers International said the homesites are larger than those D.R. Horton currently is building. Colliers International represented both the buyer and seller, WPV Residential LLC.

The lots are a combination of 70 feet and 80 feet wide. The homes will be part of Villages of Westport Phase III.

The neighborhood is in Northwest Jacksonville off Braddock Road just north of Interstate 295 and near Jacksonville International Airport.

“It’s a great location,” said Diebel. “The Northside is getting a lot of activity now with Amazon going in and there is good demand up there right now.”

Horton officials were unavailable for comment. The builder currently is offering homes ranging from 1,577 square feet to 2,708 square feet with prices starting from $168,990 to $225,990.
