Benco Dental Supply Co. is preparing to build-out its new Southeast distribution center in Jacksonville International Tradeport.
Haskew Company & Associates Inc. proposes to build-out the 124,000-square-foot space for Benco at a project cost of $1.73 million.
That boosts the construction investment in the building to $6.8 million.
Dallas-based Jackson-Shaw developed the International 3 building at 13525 International Parkway.
Site clearing, construction, electrical, plumbing, fire systems and roofing work totals $5 million, permit records show.
Benco will almost double in size as it moves its distribution center from 70,000 square feet in Westside Industrial Park to the Jackson-Shaw property.
Benco, based in Pittston, Pennsylvania, distributes dental supplies and equipment and provides services, such as equipment repair, office design, financial planning and more for dental practices.
Benjamin Cohen established the company in 1930 and it is third-generation family-owned.
Benco.com reports the company has 1,357 employees among 65 locations. It operates five distribution centers.
Its Jacksonville location opened in 2002 in Westside Industrial Park. Benco initially leased 35,000 square feet and since doubled that size.
Jackson-Shaw also developed the 54,000-square-foot International 4 building at 13475 International Parkway that will be leased by Ecolab Inc.
Bold Bean Retailers Inc. is adding outdoor seating at the Bold Bean Coffee Roasters shop at 1905 Hendricks Ave.
The Jacksonville Planning Commission approved a zoning exception for Bold Bean, which sought permission for outside seating to comprise eight seats among four tables.
There will be no outside service. Customers would order at the counter inside and take their beverages and food outside.
Bold Bean leases the shop space from LCTurner LLC.
The seating would be in a small, fenced, outdoor patio overlooking Hendricks Avenue.
The application states that several other Hendricks Avenue restaurants offer outdoor seating, “which enhances the ambiance of the San Marco neighborhood, as well as enhances the customer experience.”
Also known as Bold Bean Coffee Roasters, the company opened the shop in 2016.
