Jacques Klempf, owner of the Cowford Chophouse, said Thursday the Downtown restaurant will open Oct. 26.

“When I purchased this building in 2014, I had a vision for a restaurant that would reflect Northeast Florida’s history, cuisine and culture. I am thrilled to share that our doors will officially open next Thursday,” Klempf said in a news release. “On behalf of the entire Cowford Chophouse team, I’d like to thank the Jacksonville community for its tremendous support as we’ve worked to restore this building and prepare it for a new chapter in Downtown’s history.”

Cowford Chophouse is in the former Bostwick Building at 101 E. Bay St. at Bay and Ocean streets.

Ian Lynch is the restaurant’s executive chef. The menu will feature steak, seafood and made-from-scratch sides. The menu will be updated regularly to highlight seasonal ingredients and new recipes.

Cowford Chophouse is part of Forking Amazing Restaurants, owner of Bistro Aix and Il Desco.

Reservations can be made at CowfordChophouse.com and through OpenTable.
