Southeastern Grocers reported Monday that it will re-open its Winn-Dixie, Harveys and other stores closed by Hurricane Irma as soon as it can, possibly some Tuesday.
"Each store is going to be treated on a case-by-case basis. As safety is our top priority, that will be or guiding factor," spokesman Joe Caldwell said Monday afternoon.
"We also need to ensure our buildings, services, and most importantly, our associates, are able to properly serve our customers," he said.
Caldwell directed customers to winndixie.com/hurricaneirma or harveyssupermarkets.com/hurricaneirma for the status of neighborhood stores.
He said all Duval County stores were closed for the storm but the company was able to keep open or open up more than 20 stores in the Panhandle area of North Florida with plans to open more North Florida stores Tuesday.
Caldwell said the company was able to re-open about 20 stores in South Florida as of about 4 p.m. Monday.
