The city approved construction for Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in Town Center Promenade at 4458 Town Center Parkway.
Centerpoint Contracting Inc. is the contractor for the $800,000 project to build a 3,213-square-foot restaurant.
There are two area Freddy’s now – at 14016 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville and at 386 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park.
Smash Jax LLC, the developer of the proposed pingpong hall at 8206 Philips Highway, seeks a zoning exception for the on-premise consumption of beer, wine and liquor.
Smash Jax is led by Elaine Ashourian. Dennis Klee is the agent.
Ash Properties and Klee plan to build-out Smash pingpong in Baymeadows Junction at Philips Highway and Baymeadows Road.
Ash Properties’ leadership owns Baymeadows Junction.
Klee owned the Harmonious Monks restaurants.
The almost 13,000-square-foot Smash space will accommodate 20 pingpong tables, two bars, a kitchen and restaurant seating for 265 people, Klee said previously.
There also will be four private areas for corporate and other events.
Academy Sports + Outdoors intends to remodel its 8-year-old Atlantic North store at 11901 Atlantic Blvd., at Kernan Boulevard.
The city is reviewing plans to remodel the interior of the almost 68,000-square-foot store at a cost of $868,348. PB2 Architecture + Engineering of Rogers, Arkansas, is the architect.
The building scope of work comprises minor interior and exterior renovations that include a new customer service and checkout area and gun vault room, a new fixture layout, interior finish updates and a restroom renovation.
