Orlando-based Team Market Group seeks city review to build-out Mathers Social Gathering, the “swanky” nightlife concept it plans next to the Florida Theatre Downtown.

Albert Flores Inc. of Maitland is the contractor.

Through 120 E. Forsyth LLC, Team Market Group bought the two-story, almost 12,000-square-foot building that property records show was developed in 1909.

The group bought two buildings and intend to open Mathers Social Gathering on the second floor of the two-story 120 E. Forsyth St. structure.

Plans show a 5,729-square-foot build-out with two bars, seating areas that include sofas and tables, and a service kitchen.

Build-out costs are shown at $60,000, but that is subject to change.

Team Market Group partner Romi Mawardi said previously the group chose the site because “we believe in the Downtown district and want to be part of its growth.”

He said in June the venue could open before New Year’s and will be similar to the Matherws Social Gathering in Orlando.

That location is described as “a stylish, dark wood brick filled hideaway on the third floor of a vintage furniture store from the late 1800s” and offering “a “swanky, historical atmosphere.”

The menu includes classic and modern drinks and small plates for food service. Cocktails are $12-$18 and food items are $7 to $24.

Mawardi said the group is not sure whether it will seek city incentives or assistance and will look into it.

He said the location also would serve as event space, such as corporate parties and weddings.
