The Aloft Jacksonville Airport hotel is slated for a $1.3 million interior renovation.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Frazee Construction to make interior renovations to include flooring, wall coverings, furniture and paint for guest rooms, corridors and public spaces.

The five-story, almost 67,500-square-foot, 136-room hotel was built in 2009 at 751 Skymarks Drive. Aloft is a Marriott International Inc. brand.

F45 fitness headed to Baymeadows

The F45 Training team-training fitness business is coming to Bay95 in South Jacksonville.

The city approved a sign permit for F45 at 8738 Baymeadows Road E., the Bay95 retail center under construction in the Baymeadows area. 

Tenant renovations will be a $46,000 build-out, according to a pending permit. Landlord Justin Clark said F45 will lease 2,750 square feet of space.

F45 says on its website it will open Oct. 25. It says its worldwide studios offer different 45-minute high-intensity workout classes.

The interval cardio and strength training is designed to burn fat and build lean muscle.

“F” stands for functional training and “45” is for 45 minutes, the total time of all its classes. F45 training is an Australian method of group circuit exercise founded on variety, high intensity and functionality.

Landlord Justin Clark said the 14,764-square-foot Bay95 is 94 percent leased to tenants F45, Salsas Mexican Grill, Marco’s Pizza, a nail salon, a dry cleaning drop station and a drop-off location for Goodwill.

Tote relocating to Capital Plaza

Tote Maritime Puerto Rico and its parent company, Tote Inc., will move to Capital Plaza by year-end. The city approved a permit for Dav-Lin Interior Contractors to renovate almost 25,000 square feet at 10401 Deerwood Park Blvd. at a cost of $854,427. 

Tote Maritime Puerto Rico will move from 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd. in Greystone Business Park while Tote Inc. will relocate from Princeton, New Jersey.

Tyler Edgar, senior manager of marketing and communications, said about 100 employees will be moving to Capital Plaza.

Scott Henley, senior vice president of Newmark Phoenix Realty Group, represented Tote. Michael Loftin, executive vice president with JLL, represented Capital Plaza.
