The Aloft Jacksonville Airport hotel has been sold to a Los Angeles-based firm for $13.5 million.
PHVIF Jacksonville was the seller and Jacksonville Hospitality LLC the buyer, according to city records. Gehr Hospitality, a division of The Gehr Group, said in a news release it is the buyer.
“We like the Jacksonville lodging market, with its rapidly improving local economy, strong employment market, and robust port trade,” said David Lifschitz, president and CEO of The Gehr Group. “We are also excited to add the Aloft brand to our hotel portfolio.”
Aloft Jacksonville Airport at 751 Skymarks Drive has 136 guestrooms, a bar, fitness center, outdoor pool and 600 square feet of meeting space.
It’s near the River City Marketplace shopping center.
“We plan to invest additional funds in updating the guest rooms and the public areas,” said Thuong Luong, chief investment officer for Gehr Hospitality.
McKibbon Hospitality, based in Tampa and Gainesville, Georgia, will manage the hotel for Gehr Hospitality.
The acquisition was financed by BMO Harris Bank.
The Aloft Hotel chain is part of Marriott International Inc.
